Institut Rosell-Lallemand’s Research and Development Department located at its offices in Toulouse-Blagnac, France  is dedicated to improving the viability of probiotics throughout the various production stages — from cryotube to packaging of the finished product. More specifically, this R&D group focuses its efforts on the following : 

  • Optimizing sterile bioreactor processes
  • Protecting probiotic strains during freeze drying stages (drying by sublimation)
  • Microencapsultation research to protect bacteria from environmental stresses
  • Galenic formulation research
  • Examining the synergies between different probiotic strains
  • Optimizing packaging to guarantee the preservation of product stability
