Prospective double-blind study against placebo conducted on 180 patients having received antibiotics. The control group (n=64) received a placebo, while the test group (n=116) received S. boulardii (daily dose of one gram) during and two weeks after antibiotic treatment. Double-blind study against placebo conducted on 102 patients having their first or a recurring episode of C. difficile infection and having received vancomicyne or metronidazole for at least four consecutive days.
